Choosing to Love Myself

I am participating in a special and worthy challenge via social media and choosing to love myself for the next 18 days {and after}. No negative self-talk! Especially with social media, we as women play the evil game of comparison, and it's damaging. Self-worth has been on my mind quite a bit recently and this challenge popped up at the perfect time in my life, thanks to The Small Seed, who I follow on Instagram.

On the day this picture was taken (Alexia Wardell Photography), my wedding day, one of the most memorable and special days of my life, I was perfectly content with myself and my life and everything in it. I felt loved completely, by myself and those around me, and I loved who I was. Inside and out. I know that I can feel this way every day of my life if only I would let myself.

Welcome Little Man!

At the end of the month we had a baby shower to welcome Baby Palmer! Kelcie and I have planned many showers together in the last year, so it was so much fun to finally be able to plan hers with the help of some amazing friends!
Now as I type this, her due date is tomorrow and we are all anxiously awaiting the arrival of that sweet baby boy!
The shower was a huge success :)

A New Year!

Happy New Year! I can't believe it's already 2016. It's crazy! Jason started a new semester of school and I started a new job working for Revere Health, a health clinic in our area. It's fun finally getting to use a little bit of all that medical terminology I studied for so long.

January also consisted of lots of snow, lots of friends, and lots of babies. None of our own, unfortunately, but we'll take what we can get.

We love that our friends will share their babies with us :) Aren't they so yummy?!

We also love our traditional Sunday dinners with them. We had this great idea of documenting each week, but we've only documented once. So here it is!
And we're missing the Ninows. We'll have to be better about that.

Date night at home!

He's the best.

We also got to attend the Provo City Center Temple open house. It was breathtaking.
We are so excited that we have the opportunity to work in this temple once it opens up.

“In the temple, the precious plan of God is taught. It is in the temple that eternal covenants are made. The temple lifts us, exalts us, stands as a beacon for all to see, and points us toward celestial glory. It is the house of God. All that occurs within the walls of the temple is uplifting and ennobling.” - Thomas S. Monson

Vacation from Vacation!

Do you ever get home from vacation and feel so tired and exhausted that you feel like you need a vacation from your vacation? Well we decided we needed that. So we booked a trip to Monterey before we made the trek back to Utah.
Monday morning after Christmas we left for Monterey. Jason had never been before!! I grew up going with my family and I love that place.
We started at the Aquarium, because you can't go to Monterey without going to the aquarium. It was fairly crowded because of Christmas Break and all, but we got our fill and enjoyed the otters the most of course.

We had lunch at The Fish Hopper, thanks to Jordan and Magels for the recommendation.
It was delicious! The clam chowder was the best I've ever had! And my view wasn't bad either :)

It couldn't have been more beautiful while we were there. It was perfect.

This was just a short walk from our cottage.

We spent one day in Carmel and it was the CUTEST! I couldn't stop telling Jason how much I loved the quaint little town.

For dinner we both wanted Italian food REAL bad. There were two restaurants we {I} couldn't decide between. We decided on a restaurant called Cibo Ristorante Italiano. And it was a great choice. They had live Jazz music, and the food was just what we were looking for. And we got a free appetizer for checking in on Yelp ;)
A relaxing few days on the coast eating incredible food was just what we needed.

But wait!! Our trip isn't over yet!
We took a pit stop in St. George on our way home to see Mark. He had to work some of the time, so we spent a lot of time watching HGTV. But we also got out of the house and explored Snow Canyon National Park. And I'm SO glad we did! It was beautiful!!

We really ended our vacation with a lunch date with Mark and Dave.

We had the best Christmas break!
Family times are the best of times.
